James E. Crayton, 58, of South Yarmouth, MA passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. James was born on June 23,1965 in Alabama, the son of the late Ernest and Emma Crayton.
 
 James worked as a Sous Chef at the Red Jacket Resort in West Yarmouth as well as the Oyster Harbors Club in Osterville for many years.  Currently he worked as a case manager at Cape Abilities.  He was a funny, hardworking, generous, loving, family-oriented man and a loyal friend to many.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends watching football.
 
Surviving are his children: James Crayton, Jr., Jalisa Crayton, Jacobi Crayton, Javon Crayton, Jatayvyn Crayton and Mynneka Holmes (bonus daughter). He has five grandchildren: Josiah, Brielle, Quintavious, Jayana and Parker.  Also surviving are seven siblings, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to memorial visiting hours on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 11:00 A.M.to 1:00 P.M. at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA.

I am just stunned to learn of the highly unexpected passing of James. A more kind, gentle-spirited gentleman you will never meet. I send along my prayers and sincerest condolences to James' children (who he adored), his family and friends... and also those individuals whose lives he touched through his neighborliness, mentorship, friendship, steadfast commitment, and compassion.
