John Donald (Jack) Armstrong, 97, of East Dennis, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on September 13, 2023.

John was born in Medford, Massachusetts to Helen (Healey) Armstrong & Augustine Armstrong. He graduated early from high school and started studies at Boston College, but decided at the age of 17 to join the Army Air Corps to support the country’s efforts in World War II. During the war, he was stationed in the South Pacific. At the war’s end, John returned to Medford and resumed his studies at Boston College, earning a degree in Philosophy. After graduation, he began a 30-year career with the U.S. Justice Department, as an FBI agent. His work took him to the West Coast, where he resided in San Diego. After retirement, he moved to Cape Cod.

John is survived by his loving wife Yvette (Lemay) Armstrong of East Dennis, his children Anna Marie Armstrong and husband Richard of Duarte, CA, Mark Armstrong and wife Paz of Venice, CA and Jennifer Armstrong and husband David of San Juan Island, WA, granddaughters Madeline and Emma Schroeder, sister Denyse (Armstrong) Thornton and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jeanne and Elinor, brothers William and Allan.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Cape Catholic Church, Stoneybrook Road in Brewster on Tuesday Sept 19, 2023 at 11am. Visitation for family and friends prior to the Mass from 10-11am in the church. Burial to follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Dennis.
