William F. Larson passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on September 6, 2023. Born in Worcester and raised in Hopedale, he was the son of the late William and Mabel Larson. He was the husband of 67 years to the late Claire S. Larson.

William is survived by his son Wayne Larson and his partner Nancy Rondeau and his daughter Jennifer Larson and her partner Thad Soltys. He is also survived by his granddaughter Marissa Porciello and her fiancé James Conn and his great-granddaughter Gianna Conn. Additionally, William is survived by his nieces Audrey Williamson and Elaine McCrabb and his nephew Brian Foss. William was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia Porciello and his son Jeffrey Larson.

After graduating from Hopedale High School in 1951, William attended and graduated from East Coast Aerotech Flight and Mechanic School. He then joined the U.S. Army Aviation Division and served in the Korean War. After serving in the Army, William was able to achieve his goal of becoming an airline pilot. He started flying with Northeast Airlines in 1957, which merged with Delta in 1972. After 35 ½ years of service, he retired from Delta with the rank of Captain.

A private graveside service and celebration of life will be held on November 4, 2023 for William and his wife Claire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or to a charity of your choice in William’s honor.
