Linton E. Taber

Linton Edwin Taber age 93 of South Yarmouth died Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the McCarthy Care Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Barbara V. (Baker) Taber who died in 2014. They were married for 63 years.
Mr. Taber was born in Beverly, MA and was the son of Elmer E. and Dorothy (Bartlett) Taber. He was raised in Lynn and Marblehead. Linton graduated from Marblehead High School and Brown University Graduate School of Banking.
In 1951 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955 as a second class disbursing clerk. While in the Navy he made many trips to the Mediterranean and an around the world cruise with three months in Korea. He worked at the Boston Five Savings Bank for 40 years, retiring in 1988 as a Vice President. Mr. Taber and his wife then moved to Cape Cod in 1989. They became members of St. David’s Episcopal Church where they volunteered for many years.
Linton is survived by many friends and extended family; the Hoyer family from Rhode Island, and nephew Josh Baker and family from Byfield, MA.
A memorial service will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 205 Old Main St, South Yarmouth, MA on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 1:00pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. David’s Paper Pantry would be appreciated.

Lin’s Barbara, was my dad’s first cousin. They shared many good times together, in MA ,MN and IA. Ron and I enjoyed our visits to Cape Cod and his visits to the lake in Iowa. He loved his family and time spent together. He was loved and will be missed. Rest in peace.
