Angela was born in Boston, grew up in Walpole and moved to Cape Cod in 1994. She was the beloved daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Cannon) Butler of East Dennis, sister of Jennifer, sister-in-law of Tom, and dear Auntie to Jim, Tim and Sarah Rose all of West Ossipee, NH. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Angela participated in the Special Olympics, enjoyed music, dancing, bingo, coloring and being a part of the various programs at CapeAbilities. In 2010 she reached her goal of living “on her own” in her forever home, an environment where she blossomed and met her best friend Kim, where she had an incredible caring and dedicated staff.

She was fortunate to take part in an early intervention program that planted the seeds for her lifetime of achievements and growth. We all learned early on that continuity and consistency was the key to Angela’s many successes. Angela was blessed with wonderful special educators and dedicated direct care professionals who helped her mature into a caring adult. She received amazing healthcare from Joseph Gold, MD and Marilyn Gordon, MD.

Angela’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Fidelis Hospice, CapeAbilities, Cape & Islands DDS, as well as her absolutely amazing staff at forward, suite A, that truly enriched Angela’s quality of life.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Cape, 468 Stoney Brook Road Brewster, MA 02631 on Monday August 7 at 11 am. Angela’s burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery will be private.
