Carl grew up in Dennis Port, MA. His father was a builder and woodworker and his parents ran a bed and breakfast on Cape Cod called the Evelyn House for many years. He enjoyed summers at Sea Street Beach with his cousin, Dorothy (Sorensen) Pearson. He vacationed as a child in New Hampshire with his family and at the age of fifteen he traveled with them to Sweden, staying there for four months.
During his high school years at Yarmouth High School, he was a member of the camera club. Following graduation Carl went on to earn his
B.S. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA.
Carl moved to Buffalo, NY, where he worked and lived for many years. He was employed as a project manager of Information Systems and Computer Technology at Praxair, Inc., Tonawanda, NY., a subsidiary of Union Carbide Industrial Gases Inc. Carl took pride in doing work that was improving the lives of people.
Upon retirement twenty-two years ago, Carl returned to Cape Cod and enjoyed holidays and many special occasions with his cousin, Dorothy Pearson, and her family. He liked to verbally spar with Dorothy's husband, David, over sports, politics, and the latest news. They would join others in a coffee club where animated discussions occurred.
Carl remained a constant in the Pearson household and although David and Dorothy predeceased him, he will be missed by their children, who loved him.
He was a Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan, but also maintained a loyalty to the Buffalo Bills.
