Geraldine Belanger Fortin of Brewster MA, previously of East Windsor, CT passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2023. She was born in St. Hilaire, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Alcide and Marie Anne Belanger. Gerry always had a beautiful smile for everyone she met. She was devoted to her faith and served as a Eucharistic minister and volunteered her time for church craft fairs, and events. Her talents were knitting and quilting, especially for her grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her so much joy. Above all she loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them.

Gerry is survived by her loving children; Rita LaBonte, Eva Sojka, Jerry Fortin and his wife, Gail, Jane Thrasher and her husband Hal; 8 grandchildren, Lisa, Toby, Steven, Eric, Lindsey, Andrew, Michelle and Jay; 12 great grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler, Kamryn, Sydney, Madelyn, Omarien, Analiese, Parker, Leona, Kieran, McKenna and Casey.

She is survived by her brother Real Belanger, and sisters, Alexina Violette, Florine Belanger and Sylvie Belanger.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Andrew Fortin, and her sisters, Dorilla Michaud and Yolande LaPlante.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 31st, at 10 am at St. Philips Church, East Windsor, CT, followed by burial at St. Catherine Cemetery in Broad Brook, CT. In lieu of flowers online donations can be made to www.heart.org 

To all my cousins, Jane,Jerry,Eva and Rita. Just to let you know that we were blessed to have been able to have our dear mothers with us for so long. Ma tante Dine was all love,laugh with a big hearth. My deepest sympathy to you cousins and families. May she rest in peace .
