Timothy Joseph O’Leary, Jr., of South Yarmouth passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday April 26, 2023, at the age of 85. He was born in Boston, MA to Esther (Agnew) and Timothy O’Leary Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anne Marie (Maloney) O’Leary.
A veteran, Timothy served honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was on active reserves until 1963. Prior to his service, Tim was raised in Mission Hill with his five siblings and graduated from the Boston Trade School in 1955. After working for the New England Telephone Company for thirty years he retired in 1997 and relocated with Anne to Cape Cod.
Tim was an avid fisherman and loved boating, gardening and reading. When he wasn’t traveling to Ireland, England, Spain, Alaska, or the Caribbean with Anne and friends, he was enjoying his grandchildren and great grandchild Declan. Tim was the beloved father to Michael and his wife Karen and their children Caroline and Conor of Kingston, Kevin and his children Patrick and Jessica of New York, and James Brendan of South Yarmouth. Tim loved his family and was so proud of their life accomplishments and achievements. He will be forever in our hearts.
He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth and brother, Thomas and preceded in death by his brother, Charles and sisters, Eleanor and Dorothy.
Friends and relatives may call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. South Yarmouth, MA on Thursday, May 4 from 9 - 10:30 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M.at Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave., South, Yarmouth, MA. Interment to follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA at 1:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Timothy’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Anne Marie was my only 'sister.' I am so sorry for her loss. Tim was a good man, husband and father/grandfather/great grandfather. Rest in peace, Timmy and go with God. With love to all his family, Harold Miller
