Jan 14th, 2023
Jennie (Cagnetta) DePalma, of Chatham MA, formerly of Braintree MA, passed away peacefully January 14, 2023 at the age of 96. Born to the late Frank and Angelina Cagnetta in Haverhill, MA.
Beloved wife of the late Anthony V. DePalma for 60 years. Devoted mother to Marie A. Battles and her husband Dennis of Yarmouth MA and Anthony F. DePalma and his wife Amanda of Groveland MA. Grandmother of Jessica, Denise, Louie, and Gabriella. Great-grandmother of Cameron and Ellle. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and friend to countless people.
Jennie was very close to her five siblings and is predeceased by her sisters Lena Cataldo, Mary Curcio, and Frances Hebert, and her brothers Pasquale Cagnetta and Pasquale Cagnetta. Jennie’s two passions were her family and cooking. She was the happiest when she combined the two, cooking the most amazing Italian meals for her family and friends. Jennie attended cosmetology school prior to her marriage in 1945, then became the most loving, caring stay at home mother a family could have. As a grandmother, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren, whether at the beaches of Florida and Cape Cod, or teaching them some of her recipes in her kitchen. Jennie was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
Visiting hours will be held at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, S. Yarmouth, MA on Monday, January 23,2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30am at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave, S. Yarmouth MA. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA will follow.
