Erwin D. LaCasse of Brewster, formerly Lanesborough, passed away on December 9, 2022, at 94, with his family by his side. He was born in Essex Junction, VT to the late Alfred and Phyllis (Amoor) LaCasse. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Marilyn Phillips, and his sister, Jeanette of Spencer, VT.

Erwin grew up on a dairy farm on Williams St in Pittsfield. He was a cement truck driver for Berkshire Gravel/Petricca. He was a World War II Veteran.

With a generous heart and warm personality, he was quick to laugh and share a story with everyone around him. Erwin enjoyed spending time with his family and working around his property in Brewster. He loved watching the wildlife in his yard.

Erwin is survived by his sons, Keith and his wife Jackie of New Ashford, Dennis and his wife Lois of Pittsfield, Gary and his wife Linda of Pittsfield, Paul and his wife Terry of Pittsfield, Brian and his wife Deborah of Savoy. Daughters, Diane Newton of Hancock, and Marcia Fields of Brewster. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Bristol, and brothers Alfred, Edmund, and Winston.

Erwin was a wonderful family man. He will be sadly missed by all, and he will live in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Erwin’s life will be held at a later date.
