Eunice Rogers

Eunice (Wright) Rogers Putnam, 96, of South Yarmouth for 30 years. Former Secretary & Real Estate Broker. She was the wife of the late Amos A. Putnam, Jr., who died February 17th, 2005.
Eunice was born in Framingham and lived in Natick 11 years before moving to Hopkinton, graduating from Hopkinton High School in 1943. Following graduation, she worked as secretary at Ashland Telechron and attended evenings at South Middlesex Secretarial School in Framingham.
Mrs. Putnam was married to the late Irving E. Rogers of Westboro 28 years and was active in Westboro Girl Scouts, Real Estate and Church work. Her hobby was rug braiding and tole painting.
In 1974 she moved to California where she married the late Amos A. Putnam. Both were members and active in the Redwood City First Baptist Church before moving to South Yarmouth in 1984. They were married 31 years.
Mrs. Putnam was a member of the South Yarmouth United Methodist Church, and former Secretary of the Bass River Community Baptist Church. She was a former member and Assistant Manager of the Mid Cape Chorus.
Surviving are two sons, Donald I. Rogers of Key West, Florida and William H. Rogers of Yarmouth Port: two grandchildren, Tracey Keevan of Canton, MA. and Ian Rogers of San Diego. Also, stepdaughters, Patricia Deto of Santa Clara, CA and Barbara Bond of Paynes Creek, CA, and five step grandchildren all of California. Eunice also leaves many nieces and nephews. She predeceased by two brothers George and Ted, and four sisters Harriet Nickerson, Dorothy Bosquet, Virginia Hatch and Elizabeth Sadlon.
A graveside service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne, MA at a later date. Memorials donations in Eunice’s name can be made to a charity of one’s favorite choice.
