Lorraine (Fouhy) Daley, 81, of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, passed away in her home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, after a sudden illness.
The burial will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Dennis, Massachusetts. A celebration of her life will be held following the burial.
Lorraine was born in Arlington, Massachusetts on July 2, 1941. She graduated from Waltham Public High School.
Lorraine was married to James J. Daley on May 7, 1965; they were married 58 years. Lorraine worked on the administrative staff for the University of Massachusetts Field Station, a working farm that served as a home to an array of local non-profits in agriculture, farming and sustainability, in Waltham, Massachusetts for a number of years before retiring to Cape Cod. She enjoyed knitting, yard sales and thrifting, traditional Irish music, and a good laugh.
Lorraine is survived by her husband James J. Daley, her daughter Cara Mailloux and her son-in-law Christopher Mailloux, her nieces Cherilyn Ciardi and her husband John Ciardi, Jean LaPlante and her husband Michael LaPlante, and Kerry Fouhy, other nieces and nephews, and her loving grandchildren, Ryan Mailloux, and Taylor Mailloux, as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and other family and friends. Lorraine is preceded by death by her son, James B. Daley, her brother John Fouhy, her sister Jean Fouhy, and her parents Jessie and John Fouhy.
