Dennis-Mary Ann Cotting of Dennis died on August 7, 2022.

Born March 13, 1935, in Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA., she graduated from The Girl’s Latin School in 1952. She won a scholarship to Emmanuel College, graduating with the Class of 1956. She did substitute teaching for many years in Milton and Newton. She taught second grade at the Bowen School in Newton Center for thirteen years. Mary Ann and her husband Bill, who predeceased her in 2004, retired to the Cape in 1987. She was a member of the Cape Cod Health and Fitness Club and member of the Dennis Niners, along with her husband, she delivered “Meals on Wheels” for twelve years.

She is survived by her children Michael Lizotte and his wife Sue of Brewster, MA., Cathy Keenan and her husband Sean of Oro Valley, AZ., Beth Wood of Hollis, N.H., Denyse Lizotte of Framingham, MA., two stepdaughters, Diane Cotting and Wendy Kitty of Nokomis, Florida.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren whom she loved and enjoyed, Kate Lizotte, David Lizotte, Haley Volkmeier, Michael Keenan, William Wood, Jessica Muise and William Muise. She is also survived by her brother Charles O’Brien of Sandwich, MA. And Venice, FL. And two nieces and two nephews, Cheryl O”Neill, Kevin O’Brien, Christine Beatey of Sandwich and Steven O’Brien of Scituate. She was predeceased by her brother Jack O’Brien of Westwood, MA. In 1994 and by infant son, David Lizotte.

Visitation will be held at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave. on Tuesday Aug 23 11-12:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1Pm at Our Lady of the Cape, 468 Stoney Brook Rd., Brewster, MA. 02631 Burial will be private.

Memorials in her name can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
