Renee proudly participated in an informal national network of respected “disrupters” who are innovating traditional US healthcare and housing options for elders and people with disabilities. Translating her vision to action, in 2018, Renee founded Navigator Elder Homes of New England, LLC. She and the founding partners and current associates shared determination to becoming a catalyst to meet the expanding housing and healthcare needs of an increasing number of elders and people living with disabilities in Southeastern Massachusetts, with a focus on Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard. Currently, Navigator Elder Homes of New England, LLC, is contracted with MGH Brigham and its affiliate, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, to build five Green House model homes in Edgartown, MA to replace the traditional institutional model of skilled nursing centers.
Renee’s remarkable career spanned over 30 years in healthcare services startups, development, financing, management, and operations of health care companies, including health systems, urgent care centers, community health centers, ambulatory-surgical and primary care centers and healthcare management organizations. In Washington D.C., Renee served was a consultant in hospital administration and worked with physician partners to establish new models for ambulatory care. Thousands have benefitted from Renee’s forward-looking vision, infectious enthusiasm, generosity, and tireless energy.
Renee loved Cape Cod, including its nature, seashore, beaches, whales and warm and welcoming communities. Renee was devoted to her family, especially her nephew and nieces who, with their young children, were very dear to their Aunt Renee. She is survived by her wife, Sally Michael, of Harwich, MA, and many caring friends and family members, including her mother, Jacqueline Francis of Springdale, OH who recently became 91, and brother Mark Lohman of Wyoming, OH, brother Steve Lohman (wife, Suzy)  of Wyoming, OH, and their children, Michelle Morgano (husband, Johnny) of Nashville, Kelly Becker (husband, Matt) of Mentor, OH, and Stephanie Lohman of Portland, OR and her sister Mary Moseley of Coral Springs, FL (husband, Dale), and their children Kate Hewitt Moseley (wife, Sadie) of Oakland, CA, Andrew Moseley (wife, Suzette) of Coral Springs, FL, Emily Moseley of Seattle, and Sarah Mitchell (husband, Jake) of Smyrna, GA; cousin Lynn de Weck, (husband, Olivier), and their children, Gabrielle and Christian, of Natick and Orleans, MA, and dear friend, Maureen Corrigan of Dennis, MA.
