Rose Yvette Soukup passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 in her home at Heatherwood, Kings Way, Yarmouth Port, MA. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Soukup who died in January of 2008.

She was born on October 14, 1929 in Taunton, MA to the late William and Annie (Thiveirge) Lacharite.  She was a graduate of Taunton High School, Morton Hospital School of Nursing, with a post graduate course in operating room nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Colorado.
 
 
Mrs Soukup was an Air Force nurse for 20 years working in the operating room and four years as a flight nurse.  She was stationed throughout the U.S. and was assigned to Madrid, Spain, Peshawar, Pakistan and Tachiawa Air Force Base in Japan during the Vietnam War.  Mrs. Soukup also worked at the Cape Cod Hospital for several years.
 
Yvette was a world traveler and had taken many cruises.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and sewing during her lifetime.
 
Yvette is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her sister Lorraine Goulart predeceased her.  She had two step-sons, John and the late Robert Soukup.
 
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave.  South Yarmouth, MA.  Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA will take place at a later date.
