Eileen Mary Curtin (Foley) 94, of Cambridge and formerly of South Dennis and Dedham died peacefully Wednesday April 6, 2022.

Eileen is survived by her loving family Virginia “Ginny” Curtin of Redwood City, CA, Anne Stranberg and her husband, Mark of Cotuit, Timothy Curtin and his wife, Alberta Cazzani of Milan, Italy, and Maureen Kuper and her husband, Ron of Arlington and Dennis; She was very proud of her grandchildren, Clare, Kathryn, Matthew, Andrew and his wife, Rhe, Thomas, Emma, Louisa, and Jane, who all miss her dearly. Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband David, her sisters Sr. Mary Eileen Foley “Josephine”, Marianne Foley, Elizabeth Foley, and Virginia Noyes, her dear grandson, Christopher, and beloved cousin, Peter Neary.

Born in Dedham, Eileen was the daughter of the late Patrick and Nellie (Breen) Foley from Glencar, County Kerry, Ireland.

Eileen attended Mt. Saint Joseph and graduated from Dedham High School. She then went on to pursue a career in the Dedham Courthouse, as well as a legal secretary, and as a real estate agent on Cape Cod.

Eileen was a member of a ski club and the members became lifelong friends. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and won many local tournaments. She enjoyed travel, and her retirement years on Cape Cod and winters in Florida with her husband and sisters. She had so many talents, which she shared with her children and their friends including baking, cake decorating, sewing, crafts and gardening, as well as singing show tunes to her children every day. Eileen loved swimming, skiing, ice skating, and she even took up golfing at one point. Eileen was a devout Catholic and a daily communicant. Her faith guided her throughout her life.

Eileen was a warm, kind, caring, accepting and loving individual. She was a very social person with a wide group of friends, whom she enjoyed welcoming into her home and entertaining. Eileen especially loved family gatherings, cocktail hours with her sisters, and special friend, Sr. Jane, and beach-time with all her dear Salt Air Village friends. She also loved and attended musical and cultural events. She was proud of her Irish heritage. Eileen was often sought out for her intelligent and wise counsel and fun-loving conversations.

In her later years, she lived at Neville Place in Cambridge where she participated fully in all of the activities and daily walks. She made friends with other residents and was loved by the staff. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by family, friends, and all whom she encountered.

A Funeral Mass, in celebration of her beautiful life, will be held at 11 a.m., Easter Monday April 18, 2022 in Saint Pius X Catholic Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth. Friends and family are cordially invited to a luncheon following the service.
