Glenda Anne Simmons, 83, of Hyannis, formerly of Yarmouth, MA, passed away peacefully at Cape Regency on April 2, 2022.  Glenda was born on December 15, 1938 to Marjorie (Sears) and Richard Baker Sr.  She graduated with  the last high school class of John Simpkins School. 
 
Glenda married Donald Simmons, Sr and stayed home to raise her children.  She later entered the workforce holding different retail positions, and in 1977 she began as a clerk for Luke's supermarket.  In 1982 she was named the assistant manager, and transitioned with Luke's from a supermarket to Luke's Liquors where she worked until she retired in 1999.
Glenda was known for her generous heart and had a strong love for Boston sports
 
Glenda was predeceased by her daughter Patricia Ellen Simmons in 1979, and her ex-husband and friend Donald W. Simmons, Sr in 2021.  She is survived by her son Donald Simmons, Jr., and daughter Heather Capelle; her grandchildren Christopher Simmons, Jillian Capelle, Ashleigh Capelle, and Anthony Capelle Jr
.
