Mary M. (Morel) Manwaring of West Yarmouth, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2022 surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Hudson, MA, the daughter of Albert and Agnes (Gibbons) Morel. She served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for seven years and relocated to Cape Cod, following her time in the service, where she spent the remainder of her life.
For twenty-eight years, she taught first grade in room 103 at the Ezra H. Baker School in Dennis. She enjoyed volunteering in her community and spent many years volunteering at Cape Cod Hospital, the Yarmouth Police Department, FEMA, CERT and with the Massachusetts Handicapped Affairs Commission. In addition, she served as a Eucharistic minister and participated in the choir at Saint Pius X Church and St. Francis Xavier Church.
Mary loved spending time with her family, her close friends and her pets.
Mary leaves behind her son Paul Manwaring, her grandchildren Jeffrey and Heather Manwaring and her great grandchildren Jordan and Jade Manwaring. She was predeceased by her husband John Manwaring, her son David Manwaring, her grandson Steven Manwaring as well as her brothers Richard and Albert and her sister Agnes, in addition to her parents.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA. Interment will follow at 1:45 P.M. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA.
