Leslie C. Peterson, “Pete the Barber”, of Brewster,  passed away peacefully on March 13, 2022.  He was the son of the late Carl and Catherine Peterson of Braintree, MA. He was the husband of Linda (Hill) Peterson and father of four sons: the late Shawn Peterson of New Hampshire, Seth Peterson of West Barnstable, Troy Peterson of Cotuit and Craig Peterson of North Attleboro. Also surviving are two stepsons: Darren Vlacich of South Dennis and Jason Vlacich of Lexington and one brother, Carl Peterson Jr. of New Hampshire.  He was the loving grandpa to ten grandchildren. In addition to his son, Shawn,  Pete was predeceased by his brother, George Peterson of Vermont.
 
Pete graduated from Braintree High School in the class of 1963 and went on to graduate from Boston Barber School earning a Master Barber’s License.  He worked at the prestigious Ritz Carleton and Copley Square Hotel barbershops before marrying Laureen Dempsey and moving to Cape Cod to raise his family. He opened the Esquire Barber Shop in Dennis village in 1968.
 
 For many years Pete played in the Dennis Senior Men’s Softball league, and also coached children’s T-ball.  He loved fishing, shell fishing, hunting, his camp in Vermont and vacationing in warm places.
 
A loving husband, father and friend, Pete was a major part of the fabric of Dennis village for many years.  He will be missed by all who knew him.
 
A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
