Jeanne Helen (O’Connor) Kerwin, 88, loving wife and mother of three died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday February 6, 2022. Jeanne was predeceased by the “love of her life”, Leonard, to whom she was married for 64 years.

Jeanne was born in Gardner, MA in 1933, the eldest child of Fleurette (Langevin) and Alexander O’Connor. She was raised in Brockton, MA and graduated from Brockton High School in 1951. Jeanne began her career as a secretary for the law firm of Comins and Newbury in Boston.

After marrying Lenny in 1956, Jeanne and Lenny enjoyed living in a variety of locations including Maine, New Jersey and Suffolk, England while Len was a member of the U.S. Air Force. Wherever they lived, Jeanne used her organizational skills to establish her career as a secretary while remaining active in the Catholic Church and raising their daughters. One of the highlights of her career was serving as the administrative assistant to the head of the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) in England. After moving to Cape Cod in 1970, Jeanne was the assistant to the head of the National Park Service in South Wellfleet for over 25 years, until her retirement in 2004.

Throughout her life, Jeanne enjoyed cooking, entertaining, skiing, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her strong faith and devotion to her family were the driving forces within this gracious woman, who was loved by all.

Jeanne is survived by her daughters: Elaine Cuff and her husband, Michael of South Yarmouth, Denise Cicone and her husband, Paul of East Taunton, and Nikki Atkins and her husband, Nigel of Holbrook. She is also survived by her brother, Paul O’Connor of Brockton,  sister, Marie O’Connor, of Brockton and  brother, James O’Connor, and his wife, Pamela, of Sandwich as well as  seven grandchildren: Allison Bratton of Silverton, OR, Andrew Franke of Fountain Valley, CA, Kevin Franke of Lake Forest, CA,  Erin Brashear of Melrose,  Kelly Cicone of Franklin, Jeremy and Bobita Atkins of Holbrook, and seven great-grandchildren: Carson, Madelynn, and Felicity Bratton, Cassidy and Kennedy Franke, and Cora and Dominic Brashear. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by a brother, Daniel O’Connor of South Dennis.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2022 at Saint  Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
