Jean Marie Carr (McLaughlin) of West Dennis, MA, formerly of Boston, on September 5, 2021 at 84 years. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 65 years, Charles J. Carr, her children Cynthia A. St. Onge of Avon, CT, Mark A. Carr and his wife Susan of Hyde Park, MA, and Sharon M. Carr of West Dennis, MA. She also leaves behind her siblings Dennis W. McLaughlin, Alice K. McLaughlin, John J. McLaughlin, Edward G. McLaughlin, as well as six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews; she was preceded in death by her late brother, William D. McLaughlin.
Jean was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Dennis W. and Alice L. (Thornton) McLaughlin. She was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School, Class of 1955. Jean and Charles lived in Roslindale for nearly forty years, raising their three children there before relocating to Cape Cod year-round. In later years, she liked to garden and enjoyed spending time with her family and dog, Daisy.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours to be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 9:30 am-10:30 am in Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Parish, South Yarmouth, MA at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to DAV: Disabled American Veterans (dav.org) or Birdsley Cape Wildlife Center, Barnstable, MA (CapeCodWildlifeCenter.org).
