Margaret “Peggy” A. (Reed) Stotts 77 of Barnstable died, at her home, Tuesday August 31, 2021.
She was the wife of Rev. Dr. Michael R. Stotts. They had been married for 52 years.
Born in Cleveland, OH, Peggy was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Lineberger) Reed. She attended East Cleveland Schools, received her bachelor’s degree from Miami of Ohio University in Oxford, OH and her master’s degree in library science from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
For a few years, Peggy served as Children’s Librarian in Cleveland Heights, OH.
A gentle soul, Peggy was a model for people with disabilities and other difficulties due to her own disabilities following a motor vehicle accident prior to her marriage. She lovingly put people at ease, regardless of her disabilities, and always met people with a smile.
Peggy was very involved with her husband, in his church work, at the eight United Methodist congregations that he served during his 40 plus years of ministry throughout New England. She was well loved by these congregations.
In addition to her husband, Peggy is survived by a sister, Ellen Petche of Cleveland, OH; and two nieces and three nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, John Reed.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 4 in the Northside United Methodist Church, 701 Airline Rd., Brewster, MA 02631.
Interment will be private.

What a dear lady, and so admired for her courage through life; and with life. My thoughts and prayers are with her Devoted husband who took such good care of her May she test in peace. .
Peggy was a remarkable lady who bore her earthly cross with grace and dignity. She will long be remembered for her winning smile that put you at ease. Rest well at your heavenly table with the Lord.
