Richard P. Krecker, Jr

Richard Preston Krecker, Jr. (Rick) passed away peacefully on July 25, 2021 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA at the age of 61. Rick was born in Montclair, New Jersey to Richard P. and Susan (Gallagher) Krecker.
After living in New Jersey and Connecticut the family moved West in 1970, first to Northern California then to Scottsdale, Arizona. Rick was a graduate of Chaparral High School. While at Chaparral he was an enthusiastic member of the Marching Band and proudly represented his school at Boys' State. He continued to be active in Scout Troop 441 and achieved the rank of Eagle.
Rick then entered the University of California at San Diego. Returning to Arizona, he worked at the Arizona State university Library for two years, He then entered the ASU School of Law. After graduating and passing the Bar in both California and Arizona, Rick worked as a public defender for Maricopa and Mohave Counties. With his kind heart and his concern for children's issues he specialized in Delinquency and Dependency cases. When he left the Public Defender's office to join a private practice he continued to work as a court-appointed attorney. Rick retired to Cape Cod.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard P. Krecker. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Davin; his three sons Richard III of Tempe, Patrick (Beth) of San Francisco, and Cameron of Tempe; his mother, Susan Krecker of Scottsdale; two sisters, Elizabeth (AJ Reynolds), Linda (Michael Brett); his brother Matthew (Natalya); two nieces and nine nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
