Mark Reed of Dennisport, MA passed away on September 27, 2024 at the Cape Cod Hospital following a long battle with lung cancer.
Mark was born in Altoona, PA in 1965, the son of Frances and Kenneth Reed Sr. He attended school in Colorado and Louisiana, graduating from Cedar Creek High School in Ruston, Louisiana in 1984. During his senior year, he played in the Louisiana State Football Championship.
In 1987, he moved to Maine where he worked at the Eastern Fine Paper. It was there that he met and fell in love with Michelle Limacher. They had two special children, Jacob and Hannah. Mark was a very proud father and enjoyed many happy summer moments with his children at his father’s camp on George’s Pond in Franklin, ME.
Later he relocated to Dennisport, MA where he worked various construction jobs and for the City of Harwich Maintenance Department. He received a Personal Trainer Certificate from the American Academy of Personal Training in 2021.
Mark was a hard worker, dedicated parent, loyal brother, caring uncle, and loving supportive son. He was a fun, free-spirited, adventurous person. He enjoyed white water rafting, skiing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, playing hockey, baseball, football and walking on the beach. He loved watching competitive sports and favored the Boston teams. We are all going to miss his happy personality and laughter.
Mark was survived by his parents Frances Reed and Kenneth Reed Sr.; his partner Michelle Limacher and two children, Jacob and Hannah; his two brothers, Kenneth Jr. and his wife Jackie, Andrew and his wife Rachel; his uncle Allison Hinds and his wife Jeanne Camperchioli; his four nieces and nephews Rachel, Riley, Paxton, and Spencer Reed. We all have fond memories of Mark.
